Day Trips: If you choose to add on an extra day or two to your visit, we recommend checking out some other local attractions. Downtown Washington, D.C. is about an hour drive from Leesburg and has all kinds of museums, restaurants, and a wonderful MLB park. If you want to check out more of Virginia, we recommend stopping by Middleburg, which is about a 30 minute drive from Leesburg and has lovely antique shops, home decor boutiques, and a year-round Christmas shop. Middleburg is also home to the Red Fox Inn, a boutique hotel and upscale restaurant which used to be a favorite of Jackie Kennedy.
